Day 148 – May 6, 2011

This morning, I was craving Mexican pastries so MF & I made a trip down to the Mexican bakery.

*drool*

At lunch time, I went to meet up with my friend SK at the House of Blues.

SK was in town for the day. Since I had a late breakfast (mmmm pastries), we just went to Starbucks to get some drinks. After chatting for a drink, we went to run a couple of errands — he needed to go make a deposit and pay his cell phone bill.

Shortly after I got home, I saw this..

Turns out it wasn't the kitty love we thought it was... it was more motherly LOL

Poor little Tomasa.. there was no milk that was going to come out of that nipple!! I laughed and laughed and laughed and eventually she stopped.

I felt so bad separating them but I was under strict orders not to bring home the tiny little kitty 😦

In the afternoon, it was time to drive back to Austin! I put the cats in their carriers, loaded the cats, and finally loaded the kitties. It wasn’t too bad of a drive.. except Eddie wasn’t very still for a lot of the drive.

Such a curious little one!

The drive was pretty uneventful otherwise.. and after 22.5 days of being away from Austin, I was home 😀

Day 147 – May 5th, 2011

Happy Cinco De Mayo!!

This morning didn’t start off very well.. first, I woke up after having had bad dreams… and as I talked to you, Dusty fell off the windowsill and scratched me on the way down.

In the aftenoon, AF, A and the baby came by after A got picked up from school. H is in the orchestra and they’re playing downtown. So we headed downtown. It was exciting to watch them.. and it also made me miss being in a large band… I loved playing in front of others as part of the band in High School.. did I ever tell you I was in band? lol

Day 146 – May 4th, 2011

Happy Star Wars day — May the fourth be with you!!

MF made breakfast again yay and we went out for a late lunch after we picked up H from school.. street tacos and we shared a hamburger!

Ever since last night, it had seemed like Eddie and Tomasa were upset with each other; I hadn’t seen them together at all!! But late this morning, I finally saw them together again and Eddie was grooming her {it sure does look like they’re kissing!!}

This afternoon, there were no excuses and I went to Zumba with her. On our way out, we noticed the Siamese’s kittens outside.

Zumba wasn’t bad.. after that, we went to look for a book at Target then Walmart and went to Taco Cabana since we were starving at this point… we also had a margarita while we were there 😀

After surfing for a bit, I decided to call it a day!

Day 145 – May 3rd, 2011

This morning, I woke up and got to work straight away. I had a few more things to do before my 1:1. At 11am, I called my boss and went over things I needed to work on for our group’s website. After that, MF and I met up with her friend for lunch.

After lunch, I went back MF’s to work some more.. in the meantime, I noticed Dusty got more comfortable at MF’s house

This evening, I watched TV while Mireya went to Zumba. Nothing much else went on…

Day 144 – May 2nd, 2011

Ah.. Monday. The only thing that made starting a Monday good {aside from chatting with you of course} was that MF made breakfast smoothies and toasted some waffles. AF was coming by after dropping A off at school. For some reason, I was surprised to see her with the baby… sometimes I forget she’s got a baby lol.. I tried working but had a hard time concentrating. I didn’t end up doing a whole lot of work during the day.

In the afternoon, I finally got my groove and started working. I stayed working while MF went to Zumba. I worked way into the wee hours.. I wanted to get some things done before my 1:1 tomorrow… Off to bed!

Day 143 – May 1st, 2011

This morning, I got to sleep in a little bit… the cats aren’t waking me up to pet them.. but I did wake up surrounded by cats.. Dusty, Eddie, and Tomasa (the girl kitty). We all got ready to go to your brother’s. We stopped by Best Buy to get your brother a gift card.. then we were on the road!

While we were at your brother’s, we got to see your two babies… they’re both doing okay 🙂 On the way back, your mom called and I had to give her the bad news that I wasn’t going to visit her then {we were an hour away from her place plus I had left my GPS and my iPhone charger at MF’s place} so I made plans to visit her next weekend.

Once we got back, we hung out for a bit.. and we decided we needed some more corn!! So we went back for more

MF & I were debating whether it was the cheese or the pepper that made it taste different. Maybe it was both. I can’t believe the weekend’s over 😦

Day 142 – April 30, 2011

The alarm went off at 4:30 am. and I had to get up and shower… however, the water boiler is broken and won’t be fixed until later today.. so I went to boil some water. I got to the airport and the lady who checked me in [I can’t check myself in while traveling with Dusty] didn’t even weigh my bags!! I am thinking it’s because I’ve paid to travel with a pet and for a second bag [Air Canada doesn’t charge you for the first bag]. However, she said that my flight wasn’t until 8:40, not at 7:40 like I originally thought. An extra hour to spare at the airport..yay! I then realized I had left the Nintendo 3DS on the kitchen counter. D’OH!!!

As I was already awake and hungry, I went to Tim Hortons to get some food.

I gotta get rid of all of this Canadian change!!

Luckily, I had enough change so I didn’t have to use my debit card to pay for my egg sandwich with ham {it was a lot like an Egg McMuffin} combo with a tea. I sat down and ate… man the line grew way long while I was sitting there. After breakfast, I picked up a couple of magazines and a bottle of water, then went to the gate. The flight was on time and I slept for more than half of it.

Once we got to Houston, Dusty and I waited for our ride.

He was actually people watching and not hiding!!

After arriving at MF’s house, AF + kids arrived. We ordered pizza for lunch, and A played Just Dance 2 while AF & I chatted and looked at the magazines. We mostly just hung out that night… we did go to Fiesta to get some junk food at a stand… the diablito snow cones, corn in a cup, chips with salsa, and this frozen mango treat.

Oof.. so full but it was soooo good 😀

Day 140 – April 28, 2011

This morning there was sunshine!!!

Dusty made sure to enjoy it as much as he could

I looked at the forecast for today and saw that there would be rain in the afternoon. I said “SCREW YOU, RAIN!” and wore a dress. Man, I guess I should’ve looked closer at the wind icons because it was super windy when I went out. I wore my parka so I was okay… At work, we waited for IS to come in as ND wanted to go for breakfast. I’d already had breakfast but went along anyway. I was putting my coat on when ND said we were just going to the cafeteria downstairs, so I left it behind. Once we were downstairs, I saw IS’ car out the front door and ND said we were going to McD’s. I expressed concern at the fact that I was wearing a dress and ND said I would be ok. He was WRONG! The wind kept trying to blow up my dress!! Anyway, we made it there and back without incident 😀

I had lunch scheduled with 2 people who started around the same time I had – RA & TA. RA now lives in Boston and works out of the same office I used to; she was in town for a few days. TA still works out of the Mississauga office. They had lunch brought in and had a very short lunch. It was good to catch up though 🙂

In the evening, we hung out at home for a bit before we headed to dinner. My mom has this strange way of flicking the birds.

Day 137 – April 25, 2011

Happy 9th work anniversary to me!!

Unfortunately for me, I still wasn’t feeling well so I stayed home. I slept a ton and I woke up and someone decided he needed to use a pillow as well…

In the afternoon, my mom called me from work [she had gone to work as she felt fine once we got home last night] and told me that I needed to start moving so I’d feel better.  She suggested I go grocery shopping with my sister.

We walked around for quite some time… she couldn’t decide on what she wanted and then she’d decide on things and go back for them… Eventually we finished and went to check out.

You may not notice it, but there’s some  Laughing Cow cheese (known as La Vache Qui Rit in Canada) on the belt. It’s quite a shocker for my sister to be buying because she’s been grossed out of it by years.. ever since she got sick from eating the cheese dippers. The reason she bought it was so she could have it on some toast with smoked salmon.

Anyway, we went home and my sister left shortly thereafter… she had to put her groceries away. I watched TV and then got ready for work tomorrow.. I’ll be going back to the office.

Day 136 – April 24, 2011

This morning, we basically had the same routine as yesterday.. got up, showered, got ready, went downstairs for breakfast… the only difference this morning was that we were in a disagreement… I was upset about how my parents were behaving and my dad said he wanted to leave as soon as possible, so I figured it was best that I didn’t go see AH and started our drive back to Canada. I felt bad not going to see her for many reasons, so since I was driving, I turned around and drove back into Boston.

In true Boston form, the GPS got us lost.. I couldn’t remember exactly how to get to AH’s place but I had an idea… anyway once we finally got there, it was super nice out. We chatted and got caught up. It was really nice seeing her, after about half hour, we were back on the road. All was going well until I started to feel sick. Luckily, there weren’t any accidents and I was thankful for a CVS that was open to help. It took us forever to get back across the border (we didn’t get charged duty and the passport stamp procedure was much faster), but then my mom started to feel sick. We got home and unpacked the car. It was one long day..
